I think it's in retrospect that one realizes just how special an experience was. That's my feeling about my experiences in Samburu. Because I've never been on safari before, I didn't realize just how vital is the role of guide. That we were assigned Lemaron was a huge stroke of luck. He was completely unflappable and had an unerring sense of where to go to find the game. As a Masai, he has grown up around these animals and can read their body language. The result is an incredible experience for the tourists, ie., us.

I always believed that going on safari changes forever your perspective on life and how it could be lived. Now you understand why................

Isn't it amazing how close you actually can get to the wonderful, expressive animals?

Some beautiful photos. The closeness of the elephants, the Acadia tree at sunset, the male giraffe. Just gorgeous. Brought back some amazing happy memories for me. and now it will go into your amazing memory box xxxx
