Housesitting Heaven

I'm able to enjoy very long holidays because instead of booking hotels, I house sit or, more accurately, I cat sit. (Message me for more information and a discount code for Trusted Housesitters.com) I've had some good sits in the past and most of the locations were places where we could rely on public transport. Our current sit, however, is one for which we made an exception and hired a car, because the area is one we've really wanted to visit, South Devon. It's a beautiful part of England with charming towns and villages and lots of amazing walks. To make things even more appealing, the house where we're staying is absolutely gorgeous and our hosts couldn't be nicer. (Because I don't want to invade anyone's privacy I can't share any photos of the house.) We had a lovely dinner the day we arrived and got to explore the Kingsbridge area a little the next morning with our hosts. In the afternoon we walked to the next village over via the footpath in the field behind our hosts' house. It was a six-mile hike there and back through some lovely terrain.

Along the way the neighbors came out to take a look.

If this walk is any indication, it's going to be a lovely couple of weeks in Devon.
